Why Does a Profile or Playlist Link Not Work?

A collection URL identifies many possible items, while the web downloader normally expects one specific public post, video, track or file.

Short answer

A profile or playlist link does not work when the web tool needs a single public item URL. Open the exact post, video, track or shared file and copy that link. Desktop supports profile workflows only for the platforms and media types explicitly listed on its page.

Identify a collection link

  • The URL opens a creator profile, channel, feed or search results.
  • The page is a playlist, board, album or shared folder with several items.
  • There is no single post or media identifier in the destination.

Use one item on the web

  1. 1

Open the collection on the source platform.

  2. 2

Choose the exact public item you need.

  3. 3

Open its detail page and use Share or copy the final item URL.

  4. 4

Submit that one item link to SnapVideoTools.

When Desktop is relevant

Desktop can process supported Douyin, TikTok and Bilibili profile workflows and multiple links. That does not mean every platform profile, playlist, board, channel or folder is supported. Check the Desktop capability list before installing.

Test the boundary

If an individual item works but the collection URL does not, the issue is the page type. If neither works, check public access, supported domains and current platform status.
